When in doubt visit the contemporary art museum

We headed out for breakfast at Rung Rueang Pork Noodle for breakfast.  Brett and Brendon met us there.  This little restaurant, in which you sit in the alley, has been listed in the Michelin guide for the last past six years.  You pick your size of bowl, your type of noodles, wet or dry and if you want fish balls, pork or both.
You can top it with crispy fish skin if so desired.

If we weren’t already full enough after stuffing ourselves with pork noodle, we walked across the alley for fresh Thai tacos.  We tried both sweet and salty.

Chinda headed to Chinatown to spend time with her cousin and the rest of us decided to go to the Museum of Contemporary Art.  When I think back on a trip I took with my sister to Italy, it is our visits to contemporary art museums that stick out in my mind.

I knew I was going to enjoy myself when we were greeted by the statue below.

While we purchased our tickets we enjoyed the “lotus pond” by the entrance.

My favorite exhibit was the darkened room with antlers placed in a pond of water.

Brett and Melissa posed for me at the exhibit of masks.

There were so many pieces of artwork I absolutely loved.

After five floors of wonderful, intriguing and mind-bending art the family was worn out.

We enjoyed Yuzu Americanos and Iced Chocolate Mint drinks in the cafe while we made plans for the rest of the day.  Brett and Brendon headed back to their rental for a nap and a swim.  We went back to our place to find food and maybe squeeze in naps.  Chinda was waiting for us when we returned.  She took care of Yves while Melissa, Matt and I went to find food.  When we first arrived here in Bangkok we checked out the block on which we are staying. We laughed at the Artisan Burger restaurant nearby.  A hamburger joint in Bangkok seemed funny to us.  But Melissa’s cousin said it was really good.  So we nabbed three bar stools, ordered the 3 slider plate with fries.  I admit, it was really good.  Just the right amount of food until we go out again to enjoy the wondrous tastes of Bangkok.

We did not have enough down time before we headed out the door to make our dinner reservation.  We took the BTS Sky Train on which Yves was quite a hit.  The woman beside me would point at Yves and then at her nipple.  I wasn’t sure if she wanted to nurse him; wanted me to nurse him or wanted to know if he was hungry.

We ate at Khua Kling Pak Sod. They specialize in Southern Thailand Cuisine, not typically what you find at a Thai restaurant in the US.  Again they are listed in the Michelin Guide.  Brett joined us, arriving by motorcycle taxi.  Melissa and Chinda handled the ordering.  They know what they are doing.  Everything was delicious.  The crab fried rice was so especially good.  Brett placed a to go order of it to take back to Brendon.

We arrived home full of good food and very ready for bed.
